Family 1
A family with 13 children, 11 unmarried. The father an extraordinary Talmid Chochom who authors seforim; the mother, an art teacher – income is minimal. With the recent marriage of 2 children they are for the first time in serious debt.
Suppers are practically the same every day – this is due to their eligibility to certain coupons.
Second-hand clothes - worn even by their teenagers - and the most basic necessities are a real struggle for this family.
Family 2
A very large family who, even at the best of times, never had savings to spare; they are now struggling with an accumulation of large debts from having made TEN חתונות in the space of just 15 years. The family still have a number of children living at home with extra expenses, including 2 children who receive extra tuition costs, and a third who is dangerously unwell.
The father, Reb Moshe is a סופר; the mother has a part-time role as a carer for the elderly.
With the best of intentions, Reb Moshe and his wife face a serious monthly shortfall.
